The goal of Grand Brook Memory Care is to provide a holistic approach to dementia specific care for your loved one; for example, Alzheimer’s care. Consequently, every facet of our assisted living residences from the building to the staff is focused on providing exceptional memory care.
Our Grand Brook nursing staff has received in-depth training in memory care, dementia care and Alzheimer’s care. This includes 24 hours of memory care training prior to coming to Grand Brook and a total of 40 hours of training within the first 90 days of employment. In addition to this, all of Grand Brook nursing staff will receive 2 hours of ongoing memory care training each month. Our Medication Administrators receive all of this plus an additional semi annual advanced medication training.
All of the Grand Brook Memory Care community staff is thoroughly trained in dementia and Alzheimer’s care. Every member of our team from the housekeeper to the chef has successfully completed the Alzheimer’s Association CARES Training Program. They learn how to read resident non-verbal cues and how to ensure their safety at all times. This added level of training assures your loved one a safe, happy and comfortable environment.
Grand Brook managers are Certified Dementia Practitioners. In addition to that, each manager of a Grand Brook Community receives manager training in accordance with the requirements of the state. We believe thorough training is vital in providing the best memory care for you and your loved one. Call 469-964-5727 today to speak with a Grand Brook team member or to schedule a tour.
